I'm trying to get lean, so I'm determining what my macronutrients should be. Am I multiplying my daily calorie, protein, carbs, and fats by lean (fat free) bodyweight or total bodyweight?

In order to determine macronutrient ratios, is it best to multiply by the body weight or by the lean mass?

Hello Nicholas,

If you are at 10% body fat then it is ok to multiply by the bodyweight.  If you are above 10%, then using your lean body mass is the best way to determine your macronutrient intake.
