Creatine Basics – What is Creatine and How Does It Work?
Creatine is a metabolite composed of 3 amino acids: arginine, methionine and glycine.
Creatine works by extending the ATP cycle in the body. ATP is what fuels muscular contractions. More ATP in the body means that you can do more repetitions at any given weight which means that you can then create a stronger muscle growth stimulus.
In addition, creatine increases intra cellular water retention. By increasing the water inside the muscle cell (as opposed to outside) you get a bigger and leaner looking muscle
