Biceps Training Mistakes – Get Bigger Biceps by Training Them Properly

There are 2 biceps training mistakes that prevent many bodybuilders from achieving the muscle growth on the biceps that they deserve.

These mistakes are:

Biceps Training Mistake #1: Too Much Weight

Biceps Training Mistake #2: Too Many Sets

Biceps Training Tips:
1- Check the ego by the door and use a weight that allows you to use perfect form and to fully contract the muscles as you lift the weights in order to maximize biceps stimulation.

2- Keep the number of biceps training sets to 6-12. The biceps is a relatyively small muscle used in other movements for bigger muscles like the back and the shoulders. Thus, there is no need to perform more than 6-12 sets. If performing biceps after a back workout 6 sets will suffice. If performed any other day you can do as much as 12 sets provided you have a good recovery capability.

  1. You're so right about the swaying and over-loaded weights! Some guys think they're impressive with that kind of "training" when in fact they just look ridiculous 🙂

    • LOL…love the way you put it. Thanks for posting!

  2. Six to Twelve SETS? I only do two or thee sets of 6 to 12 reps. Who possible does more sets than twelve? Do you really think most people make the mistake of doing more than 12 sets on their biceps? Or do you mean reps instead of sets?

    • Well…I would not necessarily say most people but a lot of beginners, especially teenagers, completely overdo the amount of SETS that they do…some even doing up to 20 sets in an effort to grow the biceps on a hurry. Thus, that is the reason I mention this 🙂 Thanks for the comment!

  3. Thank you, thank you, thank you for #1. I have been saying this for a long time and most people won't listen until they are too sore or injured.

  4. Can't agree more Hugo, with correct weight.I been a lifter all my life since 11 years old.In my teen years no one could lift as much as me in my weight class or even 50 pounds heaver than me.Stronges in highschool, strongest in collage in all weight classes.Once you build your fortress after years of dedication,no one can touch you without years of dedication, unless they hit the juice.I drove some to hit the juice ,just to beat me.I am a natural ,no juice for me.Correct form is everything.
